Uncharted: Golden Abyss "will change the way shooters are played"

Bend Studios Creative Director John Garvin is confident that Uncharted: Golden Abyss will be revolutionary, click to find out why along with a brand new trailer!!!!

Uncharted: Golden Abyss is arriving in the shadow of Naughty Dog‘s critically and commercially successful Uncharted trilogy, but apparently that wasn’t enough pressure for the studio that has taken on the handheld project. Bend Studio‘s creative director John Garvin is claiming that the treasure hunting adventure game “will change the way shooters are played” due to the PlayStation Vita‘s unique controls.

How exactly will it do this? According to Garvin, it’s all to do with the PlayStation Vita’s multiple control inputs that allow people to play more intuitively than ever before – he’s even come up with a catchy (and very cheesy) name for it.

“PS Vita adds a third input: you can can rotate your hands to subtly fine tune the reticule’s placement. Having everything on the same controller creates a synergy between your eyes, your thumbs and your hands that feels natural: use the sticks to aim at an enemy, use the motion sensor to aim at his head” Garvin said, speaking on a PlayStation Blog post that was showcasing a broad range of new PlayStation Vita trailers and information.

He added: “We call it Intu-aim, as opposed to auto-aim, because the player is in complete control. In fact, the player has more control than he’s ever had before. We think this mechanic will change the way shooters are played.”
